Article Taken From Kerrys Eye - 08/10/09  A SERVICE WHICH works with individuals and families affected by drug and alcohol abuse has opened a new premises at the offices of the Kerry Diocesan Youth Service (KDYS) in Listowel. The Southern Regional Drugs Task Force was set up under the National Drugs Strategy and has had a base at the Listowel KDYS since January 2007. The task force across the Cork and Kerry region works with individuals and communities which are dealing with drug and alcohol misuse. |

25,000 beermats to carry anti-drugs message By Christine Allen A total of 25,000 beer mats are to be distributed to pubs and clubs in Listowel and Ballybunion this week as part of a new campaign warning against the dangers of drug use. The beer mats give the facts about dangers in using heroin, ecstasy, cocaine, cannabis as well as the dangers of alcohol abuse on the front. On the back, they feature the contact numbers for the Listowel drugs project and useful services. |
