SRDTF have access to a National Premises Initiative which is available to projects who can demonstrate the following: "1) focus exclusively on premises where community-based drugs services being delivered are aimed at drug users, former drug users, recovering drug users and their families. 2) Focus on one of the following three areas of investment. a) Necessary Refurbishment works and purchase of essential equipment required due to refurbishment b) Purchase of premise c) New Build – fully developed applications or outline applications In this regard please note that necessary refurbishment works will be given priority however in exceptional circumstances consideration will be given to purchase of premises and new builld."
Applications to the Premises Fund are made through SRDTF. An initial letter to SRDTF detailing the proposed Build/Refurbishment, along with benefits to the Region and estimates of Costs needs are be submitted. This will be discussed by SRDTF and a decision taken as to whether to procedd with the application. To date, SRDTF have secured funding for: - A new Life Education Mobile for Kerry Life Education Centres
- Renovation works at Tabor Lodge Residential Centre
- Building of a new room for the Drugs Worker in Listowel
